Wikipedia Demo for S60 3rd Ed FP1 Description This application provides an interface to a locally stored Wikipedia database of 2.2 million articles. It enables the user to search and retrieve Wikipedia content (title, abstract, links and some of the article content) from their phone without connecting to the internet. It uses a Symbian SQL database (acquired additionally) containing each Wikipedia article (subset as above) which is stored on the phone's internal or external media. Features • Allows articles to be searched from title name • Retrieves the articles' abstracts as stored in the database • Provides links for user to view the full article using an internet connection Supported Targets • WINSCW UDEB • ARMV5 UREL Dependencies -Emulator 1 - Requires pre-installation of Symbian SQL v9.2 binaries (symbiansql_bin_v9.2.zip). 2 - Requires the Wikipedia Database to be present at EPOCROOT\epoc32\WINSCW\C\Wikipedia\Wikipedia.db -Device 1 - Requires pre-installation of Symbian SQL v9.2 SIS (symbiansql_v9.2.sis). 2 - Requires the Wikipedia Database to be present at E:\Wikipedia\Wikipedia.db Installation -Emulator Build the Wikipedia application source code (Wikipedia_src_v1.0.zip) -Device Install the file Wikipedia_v1.0.sis to your phone Important • No support will be provided for this application • This application is compatible with Symbian OS v9.2 only (S60 v3 FP1) • This has only been tested on S60_3_1_200738 • There is a known memory leak in the S60 APIs CBrCtlInterface::LoadFileL() and CBrCtlInterface::LoadDataL().
